Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Nothing this evil ever dies...

Tommy Jarvis, who is worried Jason Voorhees may still be alive returns home to pay a visit to Jason's grave. Tommy and a friend dig him up to find him very much dead. But, when a storm moves in the evil of Jason is revived. Tommy tries to warn the town Sheriff about Jason's return but, gets locked up instead. Meanwhile Jason returns to Crystal Lake now known as Forest Green. A group of counselors are gearing up for the summer and Jason shows no mercy as the bloodbath begins. Megan, the Sheriff's daughter befriends Tommy and helps him escape from jail. Soon they are chased all over town by the police as Tommy and Megan try to find and stop Jason. Their search doesn't take long because Jason is looking for Tommy as well, killing everyone in his path. Tommy knows how to stop Jason but, this time he's more powerful than ever and will not rest until Tommy is dead. Will Tommy be able to kill Jason one more time... once and for all? 'Friday The 13th Part VI : Jason Lives' features music by Alice Cooper and is one of the best loved films of the series. It's Tommy Jarvis vs. Jason Voorhees one last time. It's Kill... or be Killed!

The first film in the series to feature what we know today as zombie Jason, crawling out of his grave back from the dead. The story is well thought out and believable in regards to the history of Camp Blood. They don't want to lose business, so they change the name to Forest Green and try to put the legend of Jason Voorhees behind them. Thom Mathews who plays Tommy Jarvis does a good job of portraying the character who is much different than in the last film. He is more determined and out going than the withdrawn and quiet Tommy from "A New Beginning". Megan played by Jennifer Cooke is a great addition to the cast as she plays along side Tommy very well in his quest to kill Jason. Her father, Sheriff Garris (David Kagen) is another great character. Like some characters in most Friday films, we see them evolve through out the movie. Sherrif Garris is a very protective father and soon he has to face two of his worst fears, His daughter falling for a guy he does not like, and fighting to save his daughters life against an unstoppable monster. Jason Lives keeps the family feel going with Megan and her father. There is a touch of humor as well as we watch him cope as a single father. C.J. Graham did a fine job of introducing us to zombie Jason. Giving him a menacing presence that is very memorable. The characters are likable and the introduction of kids ages 10-12 is an interesting twist. The film has a steady pace and there is plenty of action to go with the gore. We get to see our first car chase through Crystal Lake (Forest Green.) and the soundtrack is one of the best from the Paramount Friday's. The special effects are a sight to see and go great with the rest of the film. If you want to watch an all around "Damn Good" horror movie, Invite your friends over and pop this one in and crank up the volume! You will not be disappointed.
