"Scott" Friday the 13th Part 2

Two months after the bloodbath at Crystal Lake, Alice is trying to put her life back together. After many sleepless nights she finds herself doomed by the curse that haunted her before. Just when you thought it was safe to return to camp... The terror returns. It has been five peaceful years since the bloodbath at Crystal Lake. Now Paul Holt is opening a counselor training center right next door to Camp Blood at the Packanack lodge. Paul warns them of the legend but, his friend Ginny believes that Jason Voorhees may still be out there seeking revenge for his mother. Despite the warnings, some of the trainee's are a bit curious and wander a little too far. They soon learn that the legend is true and after a last night on the town Paul and Ginny return to a nightmare come true. Friday the 13th Part 2 is one of the scariest films of it's time and is the first of many sequels featuring everyone's favorite masked murderer, Jason Voorhees. This film follows in the footsteps of the original with an ending that will have you jumping out of you seat. The bloodbath has returned to Crystal Lake... and the body count continues.
Jason makes his debut with a pillow case on his head and a pitchfork in his hands. Living in the woods for 27 years, he is fully grown and a master of survival. Truly the scariest Friday of them all. Set five years later, this film continues the legend of Camp Blood with a very well written story. 'Paul Holt' (John Fury), knows all about Jason and his mother yet he feels safe opening his training center next door to Crystal Lake. 'Ginny' (Amy Steel), is unsure about the legend and the two characters work great together. You can tell there is a history between these two which helps there characters evolve throughout the story. She studies child psychology and at one point in the film, tries to reason with Jason. 'Ted' (Stu Charno), is a very memorable character who loves life and is a jokester. Another interesting character 'Scott' (Russell Todd), Has his mind set on Terri played by Kirsten Baker but gets shot down at every turn. There are some characters that we don't get to know in this film. They are there to fill out the training center and are gone halfway through the movie. Jason was played by more than one actor and yes even an actress. Steve Dash who set the stage for the character, played Jason for most of the film. Steve made Jason scary as ever and Warrington Gillette topped it off at the end of the film in one of the scariest scenes in Friday history. Ellen Lufter also played Jason at the beginning of the film. She was in charge of costume design on set. She fooled us all as the first and only female to portray Jason on film. Plus Jerry Wallace did some work in costume. The soundtrack is just as scary as the movie with Harry Manfredini's score complementing the dark creepy settings. This film is rare, because in my opinion good sequels are hard to come by and this one delivers. It keeps the feel of the original and improves on it. The pace of the film keeps you watching and before you know it you are hooked. Plenty of gore and violence which would go on to be mainstream in the genre. This is one of those films I would recommend watching in a cabin alone in the woods, Rest assured you will be scared!
