A new dimension in terror, there is nowhere to hide.
Chris Higgins decides to return to her family's summer retreat with some friends for a weekend of fun. Chris reunites with her boyfriend Rick and soon a secret from Chris's past begins to surface. She starts seeing and hearing things she can't explain. Meanwhile, after a visit to the local store, her friends are stalked by a local motorcycle gang that doesn't like strangers. As night closes in they become prey to another unexpected visitor, Jason Voorhees. Having survived the bloodbath at the counselor training center, Jason has Chris and her friends dead in his sights. Will Chris be able to survive Jason's wrath or will the secret from her past come back to haunt her? A terrifying thrill ride for any horror fan. Filmed in 3D. Watch the terror jump off the screen as Jason dons the infamous hockey mask for the very first time. A horrifying tale with a classic ending that delivers. Friday the 13th part 3-3D is a definitive installment in the Friday the 13th saga.
Friday the 13th part 3-3D is a very entertaining horror film. The characters are mostly exaggerated stereotypes that work perfectly with the storyline. They are all enjoyable characters that don't feel like they were written in just to add to the body count. Chuck (David Katims), Chili (Rachel Howard), Shelly (Larry Zerner) and Ali (Nick Savage) are some of the fun characters that are very memorable. With one-liners like, "Be a man, man."and "Nothing's gonna happen when we are all here together.". The dialog is well thought out for each character. The casting was very well done. Chris played by Dana Kimmel was a great heroine against Jason. The perfect mix of beauty and brains. Her character, as well as Shelly's, evolved throughout the film. At first, she was the good girl, trying to put a bad thing behind her. By the end, she was very resourceful and quite the survivalist. Shelly, who was a prankster at first, kind of opened up to Vera at the lake when he upset her. Then, we saw a different side of him. You can relate to these characters. Starting to care about them. Richard Brooker, set the tone for Jason Voorhees in this film. The first to don the hockey mask, Richard's movements and walk, gave Jason his unmistakable body language we still see incorporated in Friday films today. The pace of the story is excellent. You are interested from the start, and this film delivers. The music is very creepy, it fits the film like a glove. The main theme is a bit different from other Friday themes. More of an up-beat disco like tempo. Harry Manfredini, did an amazing job of scoring this film. I saw this film at the drive-in when I was young, complete with those little mono speakers that you hooked on your car. To see it in 3D is awesome! Just when you are not thinking about it, something jumps out at you. The special effects and the 3D were done perfectly together. There are special DVD's and accessories that can play the 3D version these days. Friday the 13th part 3 is my all time favorite Friday film. It is a true classic among horror films. One of the most defining of the series. If you liked Friday 1 & 2, then you are gonna love part 3. You can't keep Jason down and now you cant keep him on the screen. A new Dimension in Terror indeed!
