11-30-07 Even More News About Next Friday The 13th
Boy the news just keeps pouring in about the next Friday the 13th movie. First details about the opening scene of the movie was released. You can read about that here. Next the official release date was announced here. Finally Daniel Pearl (DP for the original and remake of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre may be working with Marcus Nispel again on the upcoming Friday the 13th. You can read about that here. I'm pretty excited by all of the news. The opening sounds like it will be classic Friday the 13th. The release date is far enough in the future that they wont be rushing it. Which is great. Plus like I said in the last news story about the movie I really liked the remake of TCM. So having someone else who worked on it doing Friday the 13th pleases me a great deal. Plus Pearl was the DP for the original TCM so he has a pretty impressive track record to me.

11-30-07 Jason Not To Be Supernatural After All
Well the character of Jason Voorhees wont be appearing by that name anyway. It looks like they aren't going to be allowed to call Jason Voorhees by that name due to rights issues. 11-16-07 Tons Of News About Next Friday The 13th
It's been a busy couple of weeks as far as news stories coming about the next Friday the 13th film. First the Director for the film was announced. Read about that here. Then the casting breakdown of the film was released. Read about that here.
I'm pretty happy with the news about Nispel directing. I feel the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake is probably one of the best remakes of all time.
I really don't know what to think of the casting breakdown. This is looking less like a remake and more like a reboot of the franchise.

11-16-07 Tobin Bell To Switch Sides With 'Bump'
Tobin Bell has been pretty famous lately for his portrayal of John Kramer A.K.A. Jigsaw in the 'Saw' franchise. For his next role he'll be switching sides and be playing the person going after a serial killer.
Tobin will be taking on the roll of Sheriff Lundy in a movie called 'Bump'. Which will be based on the comic mini-series of the same name put out by Fangoria.

The movie 'Plasterhead' is getting picked up for a DVD release by Arts Alliance America. The movie is about a group of friends who confront an evil resurrected truck driver in a small town in Virginia. He was beaten and left for dead by a group of locals. His body disappeared and he was resurrected as Plasterhead.

One of my guilty pleasures in my love of horror has to be the Basket Case series. Sure it's not "quality" or going to win awards for brilliance in film making. But damn it they are fun! The DVD specs have been released for Eli Roths 'Hostel 2'. There will be 2 versions for sale starting October 23rd. The regular edition and a Directors Cut. The sequel was originally going to be called 'Alien vs. Predator : No Peace On Earth'. It has been changed to simply 'Alien vs. Predator'. I think it sounds a lot better that way.
